Many people are puzzled when we ask them whether their safari accommodation is good value for money, especially if they frequent the five-star establishments that offer the best luxury in the marketplace.  The sentiment that five-star accommodation is not usually good value seems to be pervasive and people seem to accept the fact that they are getting the best but that they are paying disproportionately much for it.  Should five-star accommodation inhabit that exponential cost curve where you just pay a lot more while everything at the lodge that you are interested in always seems to cost extra?



All-inclusive Accommodation, Unlike Other Safari Lodges

We are determined to bring the principle of sound value to our five-star accommodation and unlike many other safari lodges, we include a great deal as standard, paid for as part of your room rate.  It is actually possible to stay with us and enjoy many activities without having to pay extra for them; look at all the things we include as standard:

  • Upon your arrival, you get a fruit plate and welcome drink
  • In the late afternoon, enjoy canapés with us
  • In the evening, a full five-course Table D'hôte dinner awaits
  • Awaken the next morning to complimentary tea and coffee
  • A full breakfast is standard too
  • Enjoy two game drives per day, every day for as long as you stay with us
  • No hidden costs: both the VAT and your Conservation Fee are included in your room rate

Of course, true to luxurious safari accommodation, we have a long list of extras that you can request, so there is very little that we do not offer; the following are available:

  • Croquet
  • African spa and in-room spa treatments
  • Night game drives
  • Silhouette shooting
  • Visiting nearby archaeological and historical sites
  • Valet and laundry service
  • Transfer services to and from the lodge (including also private charter collections)

As you can see, there is very little that we do not offer, either as standard or optionally and we really do live up to our name as a full-service, five-star luxury lodge.

 

The Bushveld that is Just Around the Corner

How far do you suppose you would have to travel to experience safari accommodation of this standard in the untouched Bushveld at the foot of the majestic Waterberg?  No, we are not hidden away in a far corner of the Bushveld in a malaria-infested backwoods; instead, we are halfway between Pretoria and Polokwane and 150 km from either.  Johannesburg is still less than two hours' drive, and so is O.R. Tambo and Middelburg.  Conveniently, the town of Modimolle is only 36 km from our lodge and it has an airfield.

 

Various Accommodation Options

Our luxury safari accommodations come in three basic flavours:

  • The luxury suites at the main lodge complex, available in Cheetah and Rhino (both queen-size units) and each with a private balcony.  Elephant room is not only a king-size room, but adds “His and Hers” en-suite bathrooms to the mix.
  • The regal Royal Africa presidential suite, set well away (but walking distance) from the main lodge and possessed of peerless luxury, including DStv, separate WC and bidet, outside shower for two, lounge and fireplace.  Complete privacy is standard.
  • Luxury tented accommodation in Colonial-style tents with en-suite bathrooms and all our luxury suites' amenities.
