Game Drives
Be Rewarded With The Finest Game Viewing In The Bushveld With Two Game Drives Per Day
Who said the best game drives are at the far end of the country in the remotest parts of the Bushveld where the malaria mosquitoes inhabit every secret corner?
It must have been a marketing type from a remote Bushveld lodge who is trying to convince you that you cannot experience the best the Bushveld has to offer unless you travel for hours in a roughly northerly direction and do not stop until you have run out of country.
The truth is a long way from that and you would be delighted to learn that paradise lies a lot closer.
The Best Game Viewing is Just Around the Corner
Game viewing drives in the Bushveld at the foot of the stunning Waterberg are always unforgettable, but did you know that this charming part of the Bushveld is just around the corner? Our safari lodge is:
- 200 km from Johannesburg
- 150 km from Pretoria
- 150 km from Polokwane
- 190 km from O.R. Tambo International Airport
- 150 km from Lanseria International Airport
We have always prided ourselves on offering the finest service, cuisine and safari experience and we have become one of the largest privately owned, malaria-free game reserves in the region. We have also recently added another fourteen species to the wildlife of our reserves, making game viewing here an even more rewarding experience.
The Last Word in Luxury
Besides the lengths we go to to ensure the ultimate safari experience and to ensure that game drives with us are better than any you have tried in the Bushveld, we have the last word in luxury too:
- We are graded as a five-star hotel by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa
- We are an RCI Registry collection member
- We have been voted by the Automobile Association Travel Guide of South Africa as a Top 4 game lodge for three years (we were the overall winner in 2006)
When you stay with us, you are assured of the best quality service and accommodation at all times.
Fauna and Flora
Of course, game drives are all about the fauna and flora you are likely to see and we are perfectly positioned to offer you a game viewing experience beyond compare. Any of over 300 bird species can be spotted on the reserve, including rare sightings such as the brown snake eagle and the lizard buzzard. In addition to these birds, the following wildlife are just some of the examples that roam our reserve:
- leopard
- lion
- civet cat
- cheetah
- eland
- blue wildebeest
- red hartebeest
- waterbuck
- blesbuck
- impala
- kudu
- bush pig
- ostrich
- warthog
Indigenous vegetation is classified as mixed Bushveld and both the combretum bushveld and broad leaf woodlands of predominantly mixed grass types (commonly called sweet and sour veldt) that extend through this region are interspersed with densely vegetated kopjes, plateaus and ridges.
Unique Features
We know that many game lodges claim to be unique, but only our lodge can offer you this entire list of features:
- malaria-free for those numerous game drives
- in close proximity to Gauteng and other important places, as shown above and within 90 minutes of three different World Cup venues
- moderate all-year climate
- untouched African Bushveld
- we have our own helipad
- various archaeological and historical sites nearby
- the option of luxury 5-star tented accommodation
As you can plainly see, our lodge presents a unique opportunity to have a true Bushveld safari beyond the bounds of your imagination and in the most decadent luxury – and it is just 90 minutes from Pretoria. The cherry on the top is that, as part of your room rate, two game drives per day are included as standard.
