African Spa

Our African Spa In The Limpopo Bushveld Is One Of The Most Popular South African Health Spas

An African spa experience is just the ticket to really relax if you are staying over in our five-star safari lodge and this is just one of the things that makes our lodge such a popular destination.  In fact, while there are a number of other lodges that may be able to match us with some of our services and features, there is none with our unique combination of draw cards.  Among the most important considerations when visiting a luxury lodge (and very important for Gauteng residents who wish for a quick weekend getaway) is location, and we are ideally located halfway between Polokwane and Pretoria in a malaria-free area.

The Best of the South African Health Spas

You would simply have to visit us if you want to experience one of the foremost South African health spas and our spa is available from 08:00 to 18:00.  We will try our utmost to honour requests for appointments outside these hours and we can treat you at our African spa or in the comfort of your own suite.  In the case of the latter, our therapist will arrive ten minutes before the scheduled treatment is due to start to set up the area.  We call our unique variety of treatments the African Massage Collection and it has made us one of the top South African health spas when it comes to revitalising your body, mind and soul.

Available Treatments

We have several treatments available at our African spa from which you can choose:

  • Nishati Treat: this relaxing massage focuses on the back, shoulders and neck and lasts half an hour.

  • Spirit of Africa Massage: this one-hour full-body massage eases away tension and restores and enhances the body with a blend of African oils.

  • African Footprint Ritual: as the name implies, this 45-minute treatment focuses on the feet and starts with a revitalising foot soak that is followed by a filing, salt scrub and then a pressure point massage with nourishing butter.  It promotes soft skin and improves circulation and complete relaxation and is finished off with a clear top coat.

  • African Handprint Ritual: this pampering hand treatment lasts half an hour and starts with a hand polish using an African scrub and cuticle restoration using healing oils and massaged with butter while your hands are wrapped in warm mitts.  Your hands will emerge invigorated and soft and the treatment is finished off with a clear coat.

  • Chungu Massage: Chungu is the Zwahili word for strong and this 60-minute pressure point and deep tissue massage relieves deep tension and leaves your muscles feeling revitalised and energised.

  • Hot Stone Touch: warm natural river pebbles are used for this half hour neck, back and shoulder massage that concentrates on the pressure points to release tension and stress in these areas.

  • Royal Deluxe Hot Stone Journey: as grand as its name, this 90-minute “journey” is a sensory, full-body massage, also using natural warm river pebbles in conjunction with aromatic oils to hydrate the skin and ease muscle aches.  It is one of our African spa's most popular treatments.

  • African Goddess Head Massage: a pampering, half hour scalp, neck and face massage that makes use of a blend of nourishing and essential oils that has the effect of bringing nutrients and oxygen to the skin, hair and muscles.

  • Shemans Healing Reflexology: for 30 minutes, experience a traditional, ancient pressure point massage on the feet to relieve stress, enhance circulation and restore harmony and balance in the body.

  • Essence of Africa Aromatherapy: a gentle, 60-minute, full-body massage using therapeutic oils to calm and relax body, mind and soul.

Less than two hours' drive from Johannesburg awaits our luxury lodge and decadent African spa.
